Get answers to common questions about Lip Threading.
Most clients experience a quick, mild to moderate pinching sensation during threading. Discomfort typically lasts only seconds to minutes afterwards; redness subsides within an hour. Numbing creams or gentle calming products can be used if you are particularly sensitive.
Results generally last two to four weeks, depending on individual hair growth cycles. With regular appointments, hair often grows back finer and sparser. Factors like hormones, medication, and genetics can affect longevity and required maintenance frequency.
You can apply light, non-irritating makeup after a few hours, but it's best to wait 6–12 hours to reduce irritation and bacterial exposure. Avoid heavy creams or active ingredients for 24 hours and use clean brushes or disposable applicators.
Avoid threading if you have open sores, severe acne, active cold sores, or recent use of isotretinoin. People with bleeding disorders or on blood-thinning medication should consult their doctor. Our technician will review medical history before treatment.
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Avoid plucking or waxing the area for several weeks beforehand. Skip blood-thinning medications and excessive caffeine if possible. Inform your technician about medications, sensitivities, or recent skin treatments.
Avoid touching the area, hot showers, saunas, and heavy sweating for 24 hours. Apply a cool compress or aloe vera to soothe redness. Avoid exfoliants and strong skincare actives for 48 hours. Use sunscreen to protect freshly threaded skin.
